One of the absolute champions of the late fifties was Brian (Tiger) Brown. He was a brilliant ball handler and his toughness was legendary. In 1958 he broke his jaw in the last home and away match. Undaunted, he played in three finals games with his jaw unprotected spending most of these games where the action was heaviest.
